QR CODE GENERATOR USING PYTHON

By RAMYA RAJESWARI VISSAPRAGADA

This is a very efficient Python Program that generates QR - CODE for any kind of information provided.

QR - CODE:

WHAT IS A QR-CODE:

QR stands for "Quick - Response", It is a two - dimensional barcode which originated in Japan.

A QR - CODE consists of black squares and dots against a white background, this kind of pattern holds the information which any user can scan with the help of a basic scanner.

QR - CODE GENERATOR USING PYTHON:

As the name suggests, we are creating an application using Python Programming Language that can generate a QR - CODE for the data or information we supply. Now, this information can be anything ranging from a Name, to any web URL, etc.

So for this program, we first need to ensure few things:

1) We have to make sure that our Python IDE has pip installed in it. Or we have to install it.

2) We have to firstly install the qrcode and image packages for us to work on our application.

Once we install them, we can import them in our python program.

After importing we basically supply our data for which we are generating the QR - CODE.

Here the data that I chose, is the OFFICIAL WEBSITE URL OF CODESPEEDY!

SOURCE CODE:

import qrcode
import image
QR = qrcode.QRCode(
version = 10,
box_size = 10,
border = 5
)

d = "https://www.codespeedy.com/"
QR.add_data(d)
QR.make(fit = True)
im = QR.make_image(fill = "black", back_color = "white")
im.save("CS_QR.png")
